Common Terms

Marijuana is the general term for female cannabis plants or their dried flowers. Females are distinct from male plants in that they are the ones that produce flowers which contain the high percentage of cannabinoids that hold both their medicinal and psychoactive properties.

Types of Cannabis

Cannabis strains are commonly broken up into three distinct groups: indica, sativa, and hybrid. Most consumers have used these three cannabis types as a touchstone for predicting effects: Indica strains are believed to be physically sedating, perfect for relaxing with a movie or as a nightcap before bed.

Ways to Consume

Smoking is the method that is most commonly associated with cannabis, and there are many different ways for consumers to smoke. Cannabis smokers have a wide array of devices at their disposal, including hand pipes, water pipes, vaporization, and rolling papers. Each of these provides different experiences and influence the grade of smoke inhaled.
